Woke up today and checked my SBTG (Santa Barbara Tax Products Group) status - it's saying funded! All the numbers are showing up now - amounts, fees, etc. But still no $$ in my acct yet. My DDD (direct deposit date) isn't till Monday tho? Would it still most likely be Monday b4 I see the cash? This is my 1st tax season in US so not sure how long after SBTG updates that banks usually post the $$.

Based on your SBTG status update, you're in the final stage of the refund disbursement process. The SBTG portal indicates that the IRS has released your funds to the payment processor who handles your tax preparation fees and refund transfer. When you see 'funded' status with all numerical values displayed, this confirms that the payment processor has completed their portion of the transaction and transmitted the remaining funds to your designated financial institution. I'd recommend checking https://taxr.ai to analyze your refund timeline based on your specific bank and preparation method. Their system can provide a more accurate prediction window than general estimates since they analyze thousands of similar transactions.

I was about to ask the same thing! 😂 Looked it up though - seems like it's an AI tool that analyzes tax documents. Not sure if it would help with tracking deposits that are already in transit though?

Is this legit? Never heard of it. Need my money ASAP. Don't want another delay.

Have you tried calling your bank to see if they show a pending deposit? Sometimes they can see it in their system before it posts to your account. When I was in your situation last year, I spent hours trying to get through to my bank's customer service with no luck. Then I used Claimyr.com to connect with an IRS agent who confirmed exactly when my refund was sent to my bank. Saved me from stressing all weekend! The agent explained that once SBTG shows funded, it's completely out of the IRS's hands and in your bank's processing queue. Here's their link if you need it: https://youtu.be/_kiP6q8DX5c

Why pay for something when you can just wait? It's already funded. Makes no sense.

Wait, I'm confused - wouldn't you call your bank about this, not the IRS? Once SBTG shows funded, doesn't that mean the IRS part is done? 🤔

Be careful about planning to spend that money on Monday! I had this exact situation on February 17th - SBTG showed funded, but my credit union didn't post it until February 21st. Even though the DDD was February 19th. Some banks hold electronic deposits for verification, especially if it's a large amount. I'd recommend not making any important payments until you actually see the money in your account.

OMG I'm literally in the same boat right now and I'm freaking out!!! 😫 When SBTG shows funded it usually means they've sent the money to your bank, but banks can take 1-3 business days to actually post it to your account. Some people get it same day, some have to wait the ENTIRE time until their DDD. It's so nerve-wracking waiting for that money to hit!

According to IRS Publication 1345, when a refund shows as 'funded' on a third-party processor like SBTG, the funds have been released to the financial institution. However, banking regulations allow institutions up to 5 business days to make electronic deposits available, though most process within 24-48 hours.

Let me break down what happened with mine:1. SBTG showed funded on a Thursday morning2. Money wasn't in my account that day3. Woke up Friday, still nothing4. Saturday morning, boom - money was thereMy DDD was actually the following Monday, so I got it 2 days early. Banks process these differently, and some don't post deposits on weekends, but others do.

Doesn't this all depend on what bank you're using though? And whether you had fees taken out of your refund? And if you used a prepaid card versus a traditional bank account?

I tracked exactly 27 SBTG deposits in a spreadsheet from Reddit posts last year. The average time from SBTG showing funded to money hitting accounts was 1.42 days. 68% received funds within 24 hours, 22% within 48 hours, and 10% had to wait until their actual DDD. Credit unions tended to be faster than big banks by about 7.3 hours on average.

I've been through this exact situation. SBTG showed funded last Friday, my DDD was Monday, but money hit my account Saturday morning. It's a straightforward process. SBTG funds it. Bank receives it. Bank posts it. Some banks process deposits on weekends, others don't. Some release pending deposits immediately, others wait until the official date. You're in the final stage now.

Think of this like an electronic mail carrier. The IRS packed your refund (letter), SBTG picked it up from the post office (funded status), and now it's on the delivery truck headed to your bank's mailbox. Some mailboxes get checked multiple times a day (credit unions, online banks), while others only get checked on business days (traditional banks). I had a $3,478 refund hit my account at exactly 3:27am on a Saturday - a full 2 days before my DDD of Monday. My credit union processes ACH transfers at night, even on weekends.

Does this apply if you got a refund advance or had fees taken out? My tax preparer took their fee from my refund so I'm wondering if that changes anything about the timing?

This is exactly right. That mail carrier analogy is perfect. Thanks for explaining it so clearly!
