Thanks to my penchant for heat styling and dying my hair blonde, I’ve embarked on a hair growth journey many times in my life. I know I’d likely see tons of healthy hair growth if I stopped using heat and dying my hair, but that’s highly unrealistic. Instead, I like to focus on moderation when it comes to color and heat styling, while nourishing my hair with every single product I reach for. It takes a bit more time, but it’s worth the healthy hair habits I develop during the process.
Having been through this process a few times, I know the hair products you reach for can help or hinder your growth journey, and they don’t have to be super expensive to bring results. The following products have been an active part of my hair growth journey for the past few months, and I’ve really seen a difference since I started using them. Mielle Organics Rosemary Mint Scalp & Hair Strengthening Oil
I have TikTok to thank for my discovery of this viral hair growth oil, and it’s just as good as everyone claims. It’s made with over 20 essential oils to help fuel hair growth, including rosemary and castor oils. It helps hydrate the scalp, (especially if you have a dry, itchy one!), while moisturizing the ends of your hair and preventing split ends. I like to generously apply it to my hair and scalp before washing it.
Heeta Hair Scalp Massager
Scalp massages help increase blood flow to the area, which can promote hair growth. I already see a difference in my hair after massaging my scalp a few times a week for the past two months. If you’re a skeptic, know it feels so soothing and relaxing, so it’s a very easy habit to keep up with. I like to use a scalp massager similar to this after applying the Mielle Organics Rosemary Mint Scalp & Hair Strengthening Oil and before washing my hair.
Nioxin System 3 Scalp + Hair Thickening Shampoo
Anything Nioxin is going to be a green flag if you’re looking to grow your hair. Its System 3 line is for colored, dry, and damaged hair with light thinning, so the products will remove build up without fading your color. The System 3 Scalp + Thickening Shampoo formula contains peppermint oil to curb overactive oils and niacinamide to nourish the root and improve scalp health. It’s sort of like skin care for your hair and I love that approach, especially as I’m trying to achieve long, lustrous, and full hair.
Wella Professionals Ultimate Repair Protective Leave-In Treatment
This leave-in is like the jack of all trades when it comes to caring for damaged hair; it reduces breakage, hydrates, provides heat protection up to 450 degrees, and controls frizz. My hair drinks it up, and it never makes my fine strands feel weighed down or oily. I’m currently on my second bottle.
Fable & Mane Deep Moisture Repairing Hair Mask
Hair masks are a dime a dozen, but this one actually delivers a noticeable difference. The texture resembles pudding, and I like the way it makes my hair look visibly hydrated and shiny after just one use. I like to use it in place of conditioner for some extra hydration and nourishment, and I feel like that makes a big difference for my hair.
